Katherine Culp
I have been intrigued by the art world since childhood. I began studying art at The Visual Arts Centre, Montreal and later at Sheridan College. My interest in watercolors was brought to life through Ruth Hayes' course at the Fairlawn Neighbourhood Centre where I improved my techniques and developed a softer style. My work reveals whimsical, dreamlike characters, often reflecting the repetition of natural forms through playful brush stokes.

Sharon Erlichman
The emotion of colour and its tactile form in textures informs the creative process for me. My abstracts are about the strength of colour and their emotional connection to themes of renewal and re-emergence. I work primarily in acrylic, often using it as a watercolour medium. A recent series of black and white abstracts focuses on an examination of texture and form in acrylic when colour is stripped down to its basics.

Jules Oille
I can remember illustrating since I was 6; today I am a professional artist with a formal education in marketing. This schooling has impressed on me, whereas I seek to differentiate my work by never painting bowls of fruits, flowers, landscapes, etc.; my work must be distinct (and maybe a little whimsical). Part of my creative motivation is to leave a unique mark in this world. As I proceed into my life, I am happy that my ambitions are coming to reality

Donna Tranquada
My love of watercolour began at the Fairlawn Neighbourhood Centre when I took a course with artist Ruth Hayes. I was captivated. While watercolour is challenging - it doesn't behave! - there is tremendous joy in working with water and pigment. In addition to appearing at this annual Art Show and Sale, I also had my first solo show in Creemore this past spring. And, when not painting, I'm a freelance journalist at CBC Radio.
